Description

Much to his chagrin, Jay is quickly becoming known as an excellent producer of Cabernet Franc. If you talk to him, he may tell you that Cabernet Franc is “just a blending grape,” and that he would rather blend it into his Cuvée No. 439 than bottle this grape on its own. Thank goodness Ali honed her father Doug’s persuasion skills and happens to have the last say when it comes to bottling. The rest, as they say, is history!

Previous Vintages

2014 Cabernet Franc
Aromas of bay leaf and cured meats combine with flavors of ripe berries & cherries, with roasted nuts on the finish. This is a fruit forward wine, as is typical with Cabernet Franc. Dusty tannins in the mouth, along with a full body, make this an all-around delicious wine.

2013 Cabernet Franc
This wine features a mix of flavors including Rainier cherries, baking cherries, pencil lead, and the scent of forest floor after a light rain.  A second sniff releases the smell of bread coming out of the toaster and a splash of Coca-Cola.  Medium tannins and a touch of acidity bring the fruit flavors into balance.

“This wine is perfect for when I want something a little lighter than our traditional Cabernet Sauvignon.”
