“The strength of this wine is in its complexity—it changes every time you stick your nose into it.  And the finish lasts until tomorrow.”
– Jay DeWitt, Winemaker

Our winemaker Jay DeWitt grows the grapes for this wine, and it’s some of the last Cabernet Sauvignon in the Walla Walla Valley to be harvested.  Jay chooses to only make Cabernet Sauvignon with Walla Walla grapes because of our late fall, which allows long hang-time on the vines and wonderful phenolic development.

Cabernet Sauvignon is our flagship wine, and the only wine that we made our first two years in business.  If owners Jay & Doug had their way—without Doug’s daughter/our Marketing guru nagging them—they would still only be making Cabernet Sauvignon.

Previous Vintages

Aromas for this wine include ripe black currants, blackberries, fresh green herbs, pencil lead, and cigar box.  Fruit flavors in the mouth include plum jam and fresh blackberry syrup, with vanilla and caramel notes on the finish.  Another full-bodied Cabernet, this wine is well balanced with medium acidity and velvety tannins.

“…offering bright and bold berry aromas of boysenberry, currant jam, black pepper and raspberry tea that don’t get lost behind the 30 percent new barrels.
